Pharmalink Extracts Carpark and Slip Lane

This project involved the construction of a new slip lane and carpark for the Pharmalink Extracts factory in Appleby. The key focus was enabling growth for the property and ensuring safe access along a busy section of the state highway. Key elements of the work included substantial earthworks, utilising cut-to-fill operations to create bunded areas and a soakage pond (helping to manage stormwater runoff), and minimise environmental impact.
Extensive drainage work was completed to service both the newly constructed slip lane and adjoining carpark area. This included the installation of catch pits, stormwater pipework, and connections to the soakage pond. The surface construction featured 1,200m² of asphalt surfacing for the traffic lanes and carpark, 300m² of heavy-duty concrete pavement in high-load areas, and 500m² of chip seal surfacing to connect with the Appleby Highway.
Traffic management was crucial due to the project’s location being right next to the state highway. A comprehensive Traffic Management Plan was implemented throughout the construction process, ensuring the safety of both workers and the public while minimising disruptions to traffic flow. The project was delivered to a high standard, on schedule, with a strong emphasis on safety, environmental management, and quality.
